God, who we have known as Father, you who reminds us that you are also a mother. Your blessings have come to us embodied in your precious daughters. These who bring forth life both literally and figuratively. These who have loved and cared for and nurtured us into fully functional people. These who have endured the hard work of bringing life. These who have endured the hard work of calling us into wholeness, naming us blessed and calling us theirs. These who have fed us and covered a multitude of our wrongs. These who have taught us kindness, patience, love and mercy. These who have called us out of our darkness and into the light. These who remind us that we are so much more than we settle for. These who provide wisdom and counsel for our confusion. These who give up so much of themselves for our sake. These who are forever knocking at your doors on our behalf. These who teach and exhort us. These who go before us and break barriers. These who will not relent until they see us in the glory of our full potential. These women, your daughters, have taught us so much about who you are.
For them today and everyday:
We pray for rest for where there is weariness
We pray for peace for where there is strife
We pray for restoration of life for where the enemy has come to kill, steal and destroy
We pray for joy more abundantly not just around them but also within them
We pray for boundless love for them and within them
We pray for help for all the work that they do
We pray for reassurance that you are with them
We pray for mercy for where they misstep
We pray for healing for their woundedness
We pray for abundant provision over their lives
We pray for the Holy Spirit in them, for counsel and comfort, to lead and guide them.
